This is based off a true story. Well, true in the sense of it being a thing that actually happened.
Colorado is fairly slow when it comes to news. So slow in fact that a lot of local news channels spent the “top” of their news programs (at noon, 5 pm, 6pm and 10pm) covering the opening of the new Ikea store in Denver.
Seriously. The whole thing was a little overblown.
I pass by this store every day on the way to my Real Job and on the week before they opened there were at least three news vans there. No kidding.
The fact that there is a cafeteria inside the Ikea store (giving away free food) was also considered news. Not reported was whether or not in true Ikea fashion, one had to assemble the food with allen wrenches.
See you Thursday!
